What role did Becky Thatcher play in Huck Finn? I remember her being more of a character in Tom Sawyer.

Well, you're right about that, partner. Becky Thatcher didn't have much of a hand in my adventures down the river. She was mostly Tom's concern back in the village, sparkin' his interest and gettin' him into trouble like that time in the cave.

That's worth exploring. What made you curious about this?

AS
Aunt Sally Phelps

Good-ness gracious, what a question! That girl of Judge Thatcher's, now, she only flitted in and out of that boy Huck’s story, didn’t she? Land sakes, she was too busy gettin' lost in caves and such with Tom to be gallivantin' down the river with him and that poor runaway slave Jim!
